The annual period of service shall be 225 days.PRIMARY FUNCTION: Supports the educational programs and services of the district by administering those phases of the personnel program, which include data processing, record keeping, contracts, compensation, benefit programs, and certifications.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. Communicates, collaborates with colleagues, supervisors, and the publicAssist the Chief of Human Resources with administrative duties as assignedManages department budget, purchase orders and expenditure reportsGives information to callers or routes call to appropriate officialType letters, reports, minutes and/or charts from notes, verbal instruction, or independent from knowledge of situation or projectWorks with new employees to process tax forms, I-9, criminal checksReceives and responds to applicant letters of interest and application requestProcess, maintains and distributes employment applicationsMaintains a list of interested applicants and send letters to unsuccessful applicants for each vacancyAssists and maintains contact with all departments and schools in planning and anticipating personnel needs of the school programUpdates employee file to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other usesUpdates and maintains the district job descriptions as changes occurMaintains confidential files including all district employee personnel and files; including electronic databasesMay assist in meeting and/or candidate interview preparations; provides pre and post-meeting summaries, reports, or presentations as requiredCompiles data from personnel and prepares reportsAssists the Chief of Human Resources with the submission of all district, state and federal personnel reportsParticipates in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignmentEnsures adherence to good safety proceduresMaintain professionalism at all times as a representative of the district and the HR officeSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NoneQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of HR experience working in a central office for a board of educationEVALUATION: Performance of this job shall be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
