Job Description

Job ResponsibilitiesEssential job duties and responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned based on the needs of the business.• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service• Works with supervisor to determine the root cause of issues and appropriate corrections. Troubleshoots conveyor system controls and adjusts/calibrates or repairs as needed; performs reactive repairs to maintain operation of conveyors and production equipment• Assists or performs installations of new or replacement facility equipment• Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.• Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities• (Fabrication) Utilize materials and tools to create/repair custom equipment to support the operation (i.e. wood, metal, etc.).• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties• Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision• Performs necessary data entry (i.e. work orders, downtime logs, preventative maintenance logs)• Maintains records to ensure accountability of time, parts and repairs• Responsible for always following all FDA & GMP's regulatory requirements and guidelines• Responsible for following ALL Plant Safety Rules and OSHA Rules: understand and follow plant safety rules including/but not limited to safe lifting practices, safety on machine operations• Ensures the primary work areas are left in an organized, neat and clean manner. Adheres to 5S principals. Identifies and acts immediately regarding any safety hazards, spills, etc., to avoid the risk of accidents. Uses safe lifting techniques and operates power equipment in a safe manner. Abide by all stated regulations while performing works, i.e. lockout/tag out procedures, etc. Communicate with all peers, customers, and management regarding safety issues and training requirements• Other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation/Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing field with intermediate to advance working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including conveyor systems in a fast-paced production environment.Skill Requirements & Certifications:• Working knowledge of standard building codes and safety regulations• Good verbal and written communication skills• Intermediate to advance knowledge of PLC's and sortation controls• Ability to follow blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering specifications• Ability to take direction and complete tasks independently or in a team environment• Ability to learn new skills• Possess a strong sense of urgency• Ability to be on call, work days or nights, weekends and overtime if required• Basic word processing, spreadsheet, and email skills.Work Environment Exposure to food allergens, wheat, nuts, coconut, soy productsSalary Range$28.50 to $36.00 per hour DOE plus shift differential if applicable.
