We strive to foster an environment where our team members feel valued and proud of their workplace.Job OverviewThe Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of all bakery production equipment and foodservice machinery across our main facility and retail locations. This role ensures that ovens, mixers, slicers, refrigeration units, dishwashers, and other bakery equipment remain safe, functional, and efficient. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach to preventative maintenance, and the flexibility to travel between sites to support urgent equipment needs.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & RepairPerform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on bakery and foodservice equipment (mixers, ovens, slicers, proofers, refrigeration units, etc.).Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment malfunctions in a timely manner.Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts replacements using a work order system.Preventative Maintenance & SchedulingDevelop and follow a preventative maintenance schedule to minimize downtime.Coordinate with production and retail managers to plan service windows that reduce disruption to operations.Identify opportunities for improvements in equipment performance and reliability.Safety & ComplianceEnsure all equipment is maintained in compliance with FDA, HACCP, GMP, and OSHA standards.Follow proper lockout/tagout and food safety protocols when servicing equipment.Support safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.Cross-Location SupportTravel to retail store locations to service equipment as required.Respond to emergency service requests across multiple sites.Collaborate with external service providers and contractors when specialized repairs are required.Inventory & Parts ManagementTrack and manage inventory of critical spare parts and tools.Assist in sourcing and ordering replacement parts as needed.Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements to maximize efficiency.QualificationsRequired:High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.Experience in equipment maintenance, preferably foodservice or commercial kitchen equipment.Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and plumbing systems.Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in safe use of hand and power tools.Valid Washington State Driver's License (or ability to obtain one).Preferred/Bonus Skills:Certifications in refrigeration (EPA), electrical, or related trades.Experience with HACCP and GMP compliance.Background in bakery or food manufacturing environments.Bilingual in Spanish a plus.Physical & Environmental RequirementsMust be able to access all areas of the facility and retail sites.Ability to stand, walk, climb, and bend for prolonged periods.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Occasional travel between locations required.Must be available for on-call support to address urgent equipment failures.BenefitsCompetitive hourly pay based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurance (for eligible full-time employees)Paid sick leave and time offEmployee discounts on Blazing Bagels productsOpportunities for growth and promotion within the companySupportive team environment with paid training401(k)Employer Paid Life InsuranceEqual Opportunity Employment Blazing Bagels is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
