Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/CustodianDate Posted: 3/17/2026Location: ELCO Intermediate SchoolDescription:Position Title: 2nd Shift CustodianLocation: Middle SchoolThe Eastern Lebanon County School District is seeking a dependable and dedicated Custodian to join our Intermediate School team on 2nd Shift (3:00 p.m. - _11:00 p.m.). This position plays a vital role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and community members.Position Overview: The Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety in assigned areas throughout the building and for supporting evening programs and activities. Duties include cleaning classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas; preparing facilities for school and community events; and securing the building at the end of the shift. Regular and reliable attendance is essential for this position.Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Clean classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, gymnasiums, locker rooms, cafeterias, auditoriums, and other assigned areas• Support evening programs by opening and closing facilities, and assisting with setup and teardown for events• Ensure security of the building and classrooms before leaving assigned areas• Report broken or damaged furniture, equipment, or maintenance needs to the Head Custodian• Maintain familiarity with emergency procedures, fire equipment, and utility shut offs• Promote clean, safe, and efficient operation of school facilities• Communicate daily with the Head Custodian to address areas of concern• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with staff, students, and visitors• Attend required training and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Custodian or Assistant Director of Buildings and GroundsQualifications:• High School Diploma or GED• Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred• Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and positive school environmentMinimum Requirements:Clearances:All required clearances must be compliant with the Pennsylvania Department of Education's mandated criteria for hire, including:Current Act 34, 151, and 144Application Procedure and Deadlines:Applications will be accepted online through Frontline using the link on the ELCO School District's WebsiteAll positions will remain open until filledQuestions:Questions may be directed to Human Resources, Eastern Lebanon County School District, 180 Elco Drive, Myerstown, PA 17067, or email [email protected] ELCO School District is an Equal Opportunity EmployerAttachment(s):Custodian.pdf
