Way (Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence).Purpose/Summary: The Slitter Operator's main responsibility is to set up and operate a slitter machine according to customer specifications and work orders. Detail, safety, and attentiveness are critical to regular equipment inspection and the ability to measure dimensions, align parts and produce material according to production instructions.Duties and Responsibilities:Inspect arbor and overarm setups to ensure compliance with production instructionsReconcile coil identity to production and load coilThread coil through slitter-head, cropping all non-complying materialReview and record gauge, width, hardness, camber, burr, and surface condition and ensure compliance with production instructionsSet gauge monitoring system (if applicable) and ensure gauge calibrationThread steel mults into recoilerAdjust leveler to correct any shape defects as needed through slittingRun coils at maximum speed, ensuring efficiency and accuracyMonitor strip conditions, gauge as required, and ensure customer specificationsBand and identify slit mults in compliance with production and complete all documentationRemove scrap from machine regularly and empty hoppers as neededCommunicate non-compliance production or quality problems to supervisor and/or shift leadQualifications; Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:Knowledge of current crane and forklift operation preferredAbility to perform complete setup and operational tasks of slitting to ensure compliance with the customer specificationsAbility to read and follow all work order instructions and complete necessary documentationStrong communication skillsAbility and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors/management of the production teamAbility to work with little supervisionAbility to lift up to 50 lbsWorking Conditions: Plant environment, physical labor.We encourage you to learn more about our organization, please visit matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveReferral programRetirement planTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayNight shiftOvertimeWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Bonus payEducation: High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Calipers: 1 year (Preferred)Manufacturing: 2 years (Required)Machine Operation: 2 years (Preferred)Language: English (Preferred)1st shift
