Production Scheduler

Job DescriptionSURESTAFF is immediately hiring a Production Scheduler for a large, well-known client in Lake Forest, IL. The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning and coordinating work processes to ensure optimal resource use and on-time delivery of products. They act as a critical link between sales demand and shop-floor execution. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All Temp-To-Hire employees are offered competitive compensation $18-20/HR as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Available shifts include - 1st - 6:00am - 2:30pm M-F Production Scheduler Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand and plant capacity.Balance labor, machine capacity, and materials to maximize throughput and efficiency.Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure raw materials are available before production starts.Provide quick responses to unforeseen issues such as machine breakdowns, supply shortages, or urgent customer "rush" orders.Generate reports on production attainment, lead times, and capacity constraints to brief leadership on operational status.Analyze historical data to identify bottlenecks and implement Lean or continuous improvement strategies to reduce waste. Production Scheduler Requirements and QualificationsKnowledge of supply chain management, or industrial engineering.Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Visual Manufacturing) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Certified in Planning and Inventory Management preferred.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage competing prioritiesExcellent communication skills for coordinating across cross-functional teams like engineering, sales, and logisticsAnalytical and problem-solving skills to resolve scheduling conflicts and capacity issues.
