This role is responsible for ensuring parks are clean, safe, and well-maintained for public use, while also assisting with athletic field preparation, event setup, and basic equipment maintenance.The position involves a wide range of outdoor maintenance tasks including mowing, landscaping, playground inspections, and facility upkeep. Employees may also assist with specialized turf maintenance and provide support for cemetery operations when needed. This role requires the ability to operate equipment safely and effectively, perform manual labor, and follow established safety standards.Work is performed under the direction of a Park Services Crew Leader or Supervisor and may include on-call duties during evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position requires working in varying environmental conditions and maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service. Duties and Responsibilities Perform park maintenance activities including mowing, landscaping, fertilizing, mulching, and general grounds upkeep.Prepare and maintain athletic fields, including lining, dragging, and routine and seasonal maintenance.Empty trash receptacles and remove litter from park areas to maintain cleanliness.Clean and maintain shelters, restrooms, and surrounding areas.Perform routine playground inspections to ensure safety and compliance.Assist with specialized turf maintenance as needed.Perform basic maintenance and upkeep of equipment and tools.Operate a variety of equipment, including specialized equipment when required.Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving Town property and materials.Maintain and manage custodial supplies, including ordering supplies within budget guidelines.Provide backup support for cemetery operations, including assisting with plot coordination, recordkeeping, and overseeing marker installations.Perform on-call duties for evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing assigned tasks.Perform other duties as assigned.
