Samara is looking for a talented and highly motivated Architectural Designer to join the Product & Design Team as an inspirational force for creating new ways of living. You will play a key role in Samara's design process, making meaningful contributions to multi-unit projects and architectural products. Your keen eye for detail, excellent design skills, and ability to visualize and communicate ideas effectively will be essential to our success. Responsibilities * Actively participate in the conceptualization and development of project and product design work, focusing on creating a body of bold, beautiful, and delightful works of architecture for Samara's building system. * Proactively iterate on design concepts, exploring various approaches to refine and optimize design solutions at both the macro and micro scale. * Identify and resolve design challenges, offering creative solutions that turn constraints into opportunities, preserving a balance of functionality, aesthetics, and feasibility. * Produce high-quality 2D and 3D representations, including renderings, diagrams, and models, to effectively communicate design intent to both internal and external stakeholders. * Utilize industry-standard design softwares (Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino,etc) to create accurate and detailed architectural sets, drawings, representations, and documentation. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, engineering, and consultants, to manage project constraints such as budgets and jurisdictional requirements for zoning, building, public works, and fire safety. * Execute quality content creation for project-specific drawings, details, diagrams, renderings and sales collateral. * Manage project-specific visualization production by preparing required design documentation and providing constructive feedback to support final asset completion. * Product & Design research: Stay refreshed on innovative thinking around new forms of living by initiating research on historical housing typologies/case studies and surveying contemporary practices. * Helm the organization of design libraries, systems, and processes to streamline incorporation of product assets, materials, and specifications. Qualifications * Professional degree in Architecture required. * 2-4 years of proven work experience in architectural design discipline * Experience in modular or residential construction is a plus. * Demonstrates a solid understanding of the architectural permitting process and the ability to interpret jurisdictional zoning and building codes. * A portfolio demonstrating strong design skills and projects that resonate with Samara's ambitions * Prolific proficiency in presentation, modeling, and visualization softwares * Deep appreciation of aesthetics and healthy obsession for what makes good space. * A passion for housing and designing around the rituals of living. * Be dexterous and adaptable to changing priorities. * Excellent understanding of architectural principles, materials, and construction methods. * Excellent communication skills. English proficiency required. * Experience in driving design presentations & asset production for short RFP submissions. * Experience in collaborating and managing consultants in order to meet program milestones. * Proficiency in prototyping new ideas with rapid and refined fabrication methods leveraging our in house Prototyping shop and Factory teams. * Solid attention to detail, highly entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent, team-first mentality, and highly collaborative. * Keenness to grow and develop professionally within an early-stage startup environment * Outstanding organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and consistently deliver on key milestones.
