LaGrange School District 102 believes that all individuals should receive fair and equitable treatment, with their history and culture reflected in their D102 experience in the classroom, office, and community.Qualifications: Illinois Professional Educator License with early childhood endorsement 2 years of previous experience teaching and/or coursework in the area of assignment within the last 3 years Comprehensive knowledge, understanding, and skill in the content area/assignment Knowledge and experience with Google Suite Excellent communication skills Responsibilities: Implement the district's curriculum and instructional practices that align with the Board of Education standards Engage in continuous professional development designed to improve instruction Actively participate in the implementation of the district's mission and strategic plan and the school's site plan Communicate regularly with parents and work cooperatively with parents for the best interests of the student Maintain an effective learning atmosphere that promotes standards and behavior appropriate to the students' grade level Regularly evaluate pupils' academic and social personal growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports Administer group-standardized tests in accordance with the district testing program Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Serve as a resource to classroom teachers to help ELL students achieve academically in the classroom Use language teaching strategies to increase English proficiency for students who speak a language other than English at home Advocate for the needs of the ELL students Evaluate the language needs of students whose families speak a language other than English at home and recommend appropriate language support Administer a language screener to students for whom a language barrier is impeding their academic success Communicate language needs and progress of the ELLs with classroom teachers, administrators, and families Create individual language goals for students who benefit from language support Performs other tasks and projects as assigned by the School Principal Application Procedure Online applications only, please.
