Job Description

The Quality Technician is responsible for the inspection of incoming, processed, and out-going products including verification of conformance with steel industry and customer specifications/requirements for multi facilities. 1. Performs and records visual and dimensional inspections utilizing different measurement tools and CMM software.2. Interprets blueprints for inspection processes i.e. inspection plans.3. Provides input for inspection methods and improvements related to the job.4. Assists with quality training on inspection equipment, policies and procedures.5. Assists Production and Quality Department in investigations of process related to quality issues.6. Writes non-conforming Material Reports when required and quarantines products that have been rejected.7. Provides samples and communication to QA and Purchasing Management concerning quality issues when required.8. Assists Quality and Production Department with ISIR, PPAP, APQP, and capability studies.9. Instructs and implements ISO 9001:2015 practices and procedures among workforce.10. Completes accurate records (on paper and electronic data) in order to provide definitive results of data requested.11. Organizes work and storage areas for efficient workflow.12. Follows and complies with all safety regulations, work rules and maintains clean and orderly work area.13. Conduct rework and sorting activities as required.RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
