Beauty Systems Group, branded as Cosmo Prof or Armstrong McCall stores, along with its direct sales consultants, sell professionally branded products intended for use and resale by salons to retail consumers. This is a hybrid role reporting into the Support Center at Legacy West in Plano Texas.About the roleThe buyer role is responsible for driving profitable sales for their area of responsibility. The Buyer develops strategic objectives by analyzing market trends, negotiate with vendor brands, and ensure the right products are available to meet customer demand and maximize profitability. This involves developing assortment plan, vendor negotiations and managing inventory objectives.Responsibilities:Devise profitable exit strategies, including vendor participation, of slow selling items, discontinued items, package changes and poor promotional sell through.Drives lifecycle management of items.Creates and owns strong vendor partnerships.Negotiates with vendors to reduce costs, increase margin, secure exclusivity and favourable special terms, discounts, allowances and payment dating in all appropriate opportunities.Stays current with competitive landscape. The work environment generally involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work.
