The position will report to the Process Engineering Supervisor for A&T/MCR. Day to Day Responsibilities: * Provide daily production support to resolve process upsets. * Identify and lead process improvements to reduce cost, increase capacity, and extend process capability (variability, cycle-time reduction, yield improvement, rework elimination, complexity, and scrap reduction). * Lead new product introductions into the production system. * Engage the product development team during the development phase through informal and formal design reviews. * Develop process flow charts, work instructions, process sheets, checklists, forms, and other required documentation. * Collaborate with the estimating team to quote new products. * Collaborate with the commercial team to resolve customer questions. * Collaborate with the quality team to respond to customer complaints and returns. * Assess existing manufacturing capability gaps and recommend development activities. * Perform manufacturing tasks and activities, as trained, and in compliance with work instructions. * Responsible for housekeeping and autonomous maintenance of work area and equipment. * Participate in the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) of all new product development. * Participate in Manufacturing Risk Assessments and handle Risk Reduction activities. * Work with production teams to evaluate and troubleshoot product returns and advise on corrective actions. Travel Requirements: * < 5%. Typical travel includes special training/networking opportunities and potential customer and vendor visits. Hours of work: * First shift production hours, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Evening and weekend support as needed. Required Education and Experience: * 4-year degree in Engineering or Science discipline (Optical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Materials, or related) * 3+ years of experience in process engineering (manufacturing environment preferred). * Must be able to effectively work with production groups and development engineering. * Must have strong, data-driven, problem-solving skills Desired Skills: * Demonstrated experience implementing and improving process capability and control systems (SPC, Cp/Cpk). * Experience
