We are proudly part of Japan Post - JOB SUMMARYThe Entry Writer will coordinate all documents required by US Customs for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers. Will perform high volume of customs clearances processes and provide dedicated customer servicePRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms audit and review on all assigned brokerage files and payments to customsProperly classifies the commercial invoices using the US Tariff Book and CROSS as a reference toolPerforms data entry of import AMS information and HTS# - Including transmission to US CustomsPrepares entry documentation including 7501 and 3461Specializes in remote location filingPrepares post summary corrections as necessaryAssists with maintaining compliance measures for import operation - Maintain document complianceEnsures that proper documentation and procedures are maintained in accordance with U.S. Customs standardsAssists and answers customer inquiries and other related customer service functionsArranges both delivery and the invoicing of the import account for services renderedEnsures files are audited prior to paying statement on 9th dayPrepares delivery orders, sends to trucker, follows up with PODProcesses documents through the Company's ABI system, obtaining Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriateReviews and monitors all Customs rejections and requests for information for clientsPerforms other duties as assigned by managementPHYSICAL DEMANDSThis position is generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. required.Ability to talk and hear required.Ability to perform repetitive motions required.Ability to occasionally move inside the officeMust be able to remain in a stationary position for x amount of timeAbility to move or position self in order to reach, lift, climb, balance, stoop and crouch required.Ability to read PC screens; detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print required.JOB REQUIREMENTSEssential Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of two (2) years' experience in logistics/freight forwarding industry, preferredPreferred QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of two (2) years' experience in logistics/freight forwarding industrySKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOBTechnicalWindows Operating SystemMS Office Applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)Strong Communication SkillsBusinessDemonstrated critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks, and identifying alternative solutions or approachesProven ability to handle confidential information with discretionAbility to multi-task and work independentlyTime management skillsStrong communication skillsHuman RelationsSelf-motivated, with an ability to self-manageStrong interpersonal/communication skillsPay Transparency:In compliance with applicable state and local laws, the salary range for this position varies based on the work location.
