Fremont, CA Contract Duration: 5-24 months Rate: Negotiable Salary: NA $1.00 Responsibilities: Excellent employment opportunity for a Scientist II in the Fremont, CA area. Bioassay development analyst. Design, plan and execute experiments in an independent manner leveraging scientific and technical expertise to achieve defined objectives. The focus of this position will initially be execution of ADCC reporter gene bioassays for routine (non GMP) testing. Independently initiates and carries out the process for assay development, optimization and validation as required. Independently execute experiments, analyze, summarize and present data to small team. Experiments will be documented and reviewed collaboratively. Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment. Ordering of laboratory consumables to ensure continuous supplies. Design, execute, interpret and complete projects in a timely manner. Works independently with the capability to troubleshoot experimental procedures. The position will be a fully integrated member of the scientific team, attending core scientific team meetings. Growth in the scientific area of the job is expected and encouraged. Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus (3+) years of experience in related Scientific discipline or Master's Degree from an accredited institution in related Scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field. Cell culture experience with mammalian cells and aseptic technique required. Practical experience with cell-based bioassays and reporter gene assays required. Experience with SoftMax Pro software a plus. Microsoft Office programs such as: Word, Excel and Power Point are required. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability and desire to work collaboratively in a team environment. Experience in Process Science, Quality Control or Analytical Method development a plus.
