Accounts Payable ManagerDepartment: FinanceEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Redondo Beach Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000 / yearDescriptionAS the AP Manager at Impulse, you lead and scale our AP function as we continue to grow rapidly in the space industry. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely vendor payments, strong internal controls, and smooth collaboration across Finance, Purchasing, and Operations.ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing, payment execution, credit memos, cash management, and AP reportingEnsure all payments are processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policies and accounting standardsManage, mentor, and develop a team of AP specialists, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellenceOwn and continuously improve AP policies, procedures, and workflows to support a scaling organizationResolve escalated vendor discrepancies, disputes, and payment issues with professionalism and urgencyMaintain accurate vendor onboarding and records, including banking details, W-9s, and other required tax documentationImplement and monitor strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate fraud riskOversee compliance with California Sales & Use Tax and other applicable state and local sales tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, as well as annual 1099 preparation and filingPerform or oversee bank and corporate credit card reconciliationsPartner closely with cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Finance, and Operations to streamline procure-to-pay processesDrive adoption and optimization of AP systems and tools, including Coupa and other automation platformsMinimum QualificationsBachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field3+ years of management experience in a high-growth or complex environment5+ years of advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reporting)Demonstrated experience using the Coupa P2P platformAdvanced experience with QuickBooks OnlinePreferred Skills and Experience5+ years of advanced accounts payable experience3+ years of demonstrated experience with Ramp or modern corporate card / expense management toolsStartup or aerospace/advanced manufacturing experience a plusStrong process improvement and internal controls backgroundAdditional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
