The Avery Brewing Co. Tap Room / Service Manager is responsible for helping to create and maintain a healthy, vibrant, and memorable experience for guests and staff alike. This position is also responsible for helping to execute daily, weekly, and monthly initiatives including promotional and marketing efforts, sales goals, labor goals, community outreach, staff education, etc.Responsibilities: Lead 3 - 4 shifts a week on the floor as Front-of-House Manager on Duty (MOD) or Flex As the MOD you are responsible for the flow and direction of service and hospitality to include: Leading of daily pre-service meetings, firing up the staff, setting the tone and spreading the good vibes through positive, contagious hospitality Staffing levels, labor efficiency, opening and closing responsibilities, Toast functionality, menu building, menu printing, daily counts Point person for guest complaints with expectation on communication and punctual follow through Staff accountability, reporting through Toast Manager Log, incident and safety reporting Adjust daily schedule, adding shifts or making call-offs as needed based on business levels and needs Ensure that staff is clocking in and out at appropriate times based on published schedule and real time need Attend weekly Manager meetings, staff meetings, and occasional cross-departmental meetings Communicate with the MOD/Lead Teams when we are expecting to run lean or have special schedule circumstances to manage Taproom Beer Management Supervise contract line cleaners Keep all FOH staff up to date with any beer changes and communicate appropriate information about new beers on draft Maintain proper inventories of all draft kegs, to go cans and to-go bottles Conduct regular staff beer trainings as needed Conduct monthly inventory counts of all merchandise and beer in the Taproom and at off-site warehouse. Other duties as assignedRequirements: Sharp attention to detail with strength in handling money and working with numbers Strong organization skills Strong communication skills and initiative Ability to connect with and build relationships with FOH staff Leadership on the Floor as a MOD, directing Service and driving the Hospitality Factor Be a positive Team Member, contributing to MOD shared responsibilities, flexibility in schedule and offer genuine shift karma Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays Average work week of 40 - 45 hours Can demonstrate the ability to lift 65lbs safelyExpectations: Solid written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills to include time management and effective and professional email communication A desire for ongoing personal improvement and education within the brewing industry Ability to work independently and within a team to accomplish company goals/collaborate with many different departments Lead Daily Pre-Shift with positive energy and create the ability to rally the team to meet any occasion A strong understanding of the brewing process, draft systems, and beer flavor profiles Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a large team environment Ability to focus on solutions and motivate others in a positive mannerRequirements:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
