(Retirees not benefit eligible) Contract Type Notification Bargaining Unit None Revised Date 03/25/2026 PURPOSEThe Payroll Clerk will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of payroll processing for bi-weekly employees. This position is responsible for entering, verifying, and maintaining all payroll-related data in the BusinessPlus system, including pay assignments, departures/terms, and employee changes.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Enter and verify new hire pay assignments for bi-weekly employees in the BusinessPlus system. Process changes to bi-weekly payrolls, such as position, location, salary, and FTE updates, ensuring timely and accurate payroll adjustments. Verify bi-weekly employee salary information after annual roll of pay assignments. Coordinate payroll deadlines with Human Resources and Business Services department. Process bi-weekly employee terminations and update the payroll system with final pay details. Scan and file all employee change and pay assignment-related documentation for accurate recordkeeping and auditing purposes. Perform all other related duties as assigned by the Payroll Supervisor. For information on polices, regulations and values, visit RELATIONSHIPSReports To: Director of Business Services; Payroll SupervisorSupervises: NoneQUALIFICATIONSMinimum: High school diploma or equivalent; Minimum one (1) year related experience.Preferred: Associate degree in accounting or related field.Ideal Candidate: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Experience with payroll systems (experience with BusinessPlus is a plus). Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
