Communities deserve quick,empathetic service.To make that happen, our Member Companies need a strong support center that provides real help when they need it.We are building an HR function that supercharges our Members' ability to grow, lead, and operate with confidence.We're looking for an HR Business Partner who can be that steady hand - someone who thrives in complexity, isn't afraidof hard conversations, and can guide leaders through real-world HR challenges with clarity and sound judgment.Position OverviewThe HR Business Partner will serve as a trusted advisor to our network of Member Companies ("MCs"), supporting themacross all core HR disciplines. This role balances strategic partnership with hands-on execution and requires someonewho can toggle between big-picture thinking and detailed compliance work.This role reports to the Director of HR.Salary range: $75,000-85,000 per year, plus project-based bonusesThis role will be based in Chicago, IL, with hybrid flexibility RequirementsKey Responsibilities:Employee Relations & Leadership SupportAdvise MC leaders on employee relations matters, performance management, and corrective actionConduct investigations and provide practical, risk-aware recommendationsCoach leaders through difficult conversations and organizational changesEnsure consistent, values-aligned decision making across Member Companies Leave of Absence & Compliance GuidanceOversee and advise on FMLA, ADA, state leave laws, and related accommodationsProvide guidance on complex leave and employee relations issuesCompliance & Annual AuditsSupport annual 401(k) audits and plan complianceOversee ACA reporting and compliance processesSupport Workers' Compensation annual auditsEnsure documentation, record-keeping, and reporting standards are met across MCsCross-Functional & TCC ProjectsSupport enterprise HR initiatives, policy development, and process improvementsPartner on integration efforts as new Member Companies join the CollectiveContribute to building scalable HR infrastructure across the networkBenefits Strategy & AdministrationServe as an escalation point for complex benefits questions and sensitive employee mattersPartner with vendors and brokers to troubleshoot coverage, claims, and enrollment issuesSupport day-to-day benefits questions across Member CompaniesCo-lead a nationwide benefits strategy initiative alongside the Director of HR, including plan evaluation, vendor negotiations, harmonization efforts, and scalability planning as TCC growsSupport annual open enrollment strategy, communication, and executionWhat Success Looks LikeMC leaders trust you and call you before problems escalateEmployee relations issues are handled decisively and consistentlyAudits are clean, organized, and stress-freeCompliance risks are identified early - not discovered lateYou help us build HR infrastructure that scales as we growQualifications:5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a multi-entity or multi-site environmentStrong working knowledge of employment law and complianceExperience managing employee relations cases independentlyComfort navigating ambiguity and competing prioritiesAbility to influence leaders without formal authorityHR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SCP) preferredWe are building something ambitious.
