The Youth Apprenticeship Engineer will participate in a structured, on-the-job training program designed to introduce the foundational concepts and practical applications of engineering. Working closely with experienced engineers and technical staff, the apprentice will contribute to current projects while developing essential technical, analytical, and professional skills. This role is ideal for students who are committed to a career pathway in engineering, technology, or manufacturing. RESPONSIBILITIES * Assist in Project Execution: Support engineering teams by performing tasks such as data collection, analysis, basic calculations, component testing, and documentation. * Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, test results, and design specifications. Learn and utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create or modify simple drawings and schematics. * Problem-Solving: Participate in troubleshooting sessions and apply learned principles to identify and resolve minor technical issues under supervision. * Equipment and Process Support: Assist in the setup, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory or production equipment. Observe and document various manufacturing or testing processes. * Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and operational procedures, promoting a safe working environment. * Professional Development: Actively engage in mentorship sessions, complete all required academic/training assignments, and seek feedback to improve performance and technical understanding. QUALIFICATIONS * Education: Must be currently enrolled as a high school junior or senior in good standing. * Academic Focus: Demonstrated interest and success in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) coursework. * Commitment: Ability to commit to the apprenticeship schedule (e.g., specific hours per week/month) as agreed upon by the school, company, and student. * Skills: Basic proficiency with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
