Structural Engineer P. E.

MDS Staffing is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer who is interested in growing a rewarding career. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible to work with a variety of clients including architects, owners, and contractors to create structural designs and construction documents within a team setting. You will coordinate with project partners and assist with executing the structural design.As a key member of our structural engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate project plans on time and within budget, consistently exceeding client expectations. Your role will involve performing structural analysis of buildings and other structures using current software and designing structural systems with concrete, steel, timber, and other materials. Additionally, you will provide guidance to less experienced engineers, review the work of other engineers and BIM modelers, and work with construction partners to ensure a smooth construction process. Managing project workload and assisting with staffing needs are also critical aspects of this role, contributing to the overall success of our projects.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Project CoordinationPerform structural analysis and design of buildings using concrete, steel, timber, and other materials. Oversee and coordinate project milestones, ensuring the client and internal teams are aligned on deliverables.Attend internal kickoff meetings and external coordination meetingsDevelop designs for structural systems and project specificationsManage project scope, budgets, and timelines. Documentation and Quality AssuranceMaintain project documentation, ensuring all deliverables-calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports-are accurate and up to date.Review and approve internal design documents, drawings, and calculations, ensuring compliance with project scope, quality standards, and internal procedures.Coordinate and schedule internal quality reviews and ensure project deliverables undergo comprehensive interdisciplinary coordination.Communicate any discrepancies or scope changes to the Project Manager to ensure alignment with client expectations.Construction SupportEvaluate special inspection reports and address deviations from design documentsOversee the review of shop drawings and submittals, ensuring timely responses and coordination with the construction team.Support construction partners in resolving field issues, ensuring that they are efficiently and accurately addressed to avoid project delays.Administrative & Client Facing DutiesRead and interpret project proposals to understand scope, schedule and budget, and engage with clients to confirm expectations are alignedWork with Project Manager and other team members to align engineering tasks with budgeted hours and project priorities Engage in legacy knowledge transfer to ensure continuity of client relationshipsHelp ensure repeat business by understanding and delivering on client values.Hours Full Time - Exempt In - Person Core Office Hours: 9:00am-3:00pm Monday- Thursday Friday Flex - 9:00am-12:00pmRequirementsBachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis, at ABET accredited UniversityPE LicensedExcellent oral, written communication/presentation skills4-7 years' experience in structural engineeringAdvanced analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to pay close attention to detail, while working with a team to deliver high quality of workProficient with structural engineering software, such as RAM, RISA3-D, and SAP2000.Experienced in steel, concrete, and other material designBenefits:MedicalDental Vision HSA, Dependent FSA, HRARetirement: 401(k), Profit Sharing, Cash Balance Defined Pension Employer Paid Life & AD&DPaid Time Off (PTO)
