Flexo Operator

Summary/ObjectiveThe Flexographic Press Operator's primary function is to set up and operate flexo presses to produce items consistent with customer specifications.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Set up press. Use appropriate dies, inks and other materials as specified by the order. Load rolls of stock on the press.Operate press. Make press adjustments as needed to ensure print consistency, quality and registration. Verify proper color shades, die cuts, etc. Ensure items are varnished, glued, and/or folded as needed.Mount printing plates properly on cylinders.Adjust and mix inks per job requirement.Obtain approval of product before press run. Run job at pre-determined run speed. Maintain waste levels within set parameters. Unload product at end of line.Coordinate press crew efforts with other operators. Train other workers as instructed.Maintain safe, clean workstation. Place waste in appropriate containers.Maintains clean work area and supports procedures and practices dedicated to ensuring products meet safety requirements, customer required standards and regulatory standards.Complete all forms. Maintain records, files, and/or logs as required.Assist other employees as instructed.Inspect, catch, stack and package material as needed.Operate other presses and equipment as requested.Training other co-workers as needed for production demands.Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Lead/Supervisor/Manager.CompetenciesVerbal and written professional communication skill.Organization skills / Detail oriented /Negotiation skills.Leadership and management skills.Initiative/ Problem Solving/Analysis.Time Management.Perform basic mathematical skills; adding, subtracting, multiplication and division.
