This includes the integration and programming of the devices that will control the equipment and interface with material delivery and sortation systems throughout the plant. Works with the electrical design and overall project teams to document systems, coordinate electrical standardization and ensure consistence between projects. Designs and drafts control systems for material handling solutions using AutoCAD Electrical as needed. Drawing sets include device layout drawings, control schematics, panel layouts, and network and installation details.Job SummaryThe Controls Engineer III designs control systems for industrial material handling solutions. Includes development of specifications, device layout drawings, control schematics, PLC logic, and solutions that deliver exceptional customer value. Works closely with the overall project team to design systems meeting the project requirements. Uses creativity and innovation to tailor the standard product offering to meet customer needs. Leads large projects and directs the work of assigned team members. Performs duties with minimal direction.Responsibilities:Lead in the concepting and design of products that add value and are a solution to customers and market needsLead and collaborate with others on the development team to develop productsEnsure products developed fit with current and future manufacturing operationsEnsure products developed meet competitive and market demands for performance and costSpecify and develop a sequence of operations of automated equipmentPrepares schematics and specifications for control panel fabricationDevelop Programmable Logical Control (PLC) programsMaintain product develop schedules and cost estimatesFollow established engineering standards and best practices including software revision controlPerform prototype development and testingPerform on site beta testing to ensure safety, reliability, and other performance metrics are metInvestigate product issues in the field and determine root causeDomestic travel up to 50% in North America, mostly within the Continental United StatesQualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering field, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 6 years of related experienceExperience with industrial HMI and SCADA systems, Allen-Bradley controls/controllers and Schneider PLCsIn-depth knowledge of industrial automation systems, including HMI and SCADA systems, Allen-Bradley controls/controllers, and Schneider PLCsProficient with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical or other related electrical CAD systems such as E-PlanAbility to lead a team and accomplish project goals effectivelyAbility to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTeam-oriented and collaborativeCreative-thinking and problem-solving skillsAbility to learn new technologiesSelf-motivatedAbility to work non-traditional hoursMust be able to read, speak, and understand the English languageBenefit Information:Many great benefits to include Health/Vision/Dental/401k with matchFSA/HSAEmployee Assistance Program
