Position Overview:RDC, an award-winning architectural firm with a diverse portfolio, headquartered in Long Beach, California, is currently seeking a Senior Project Architect to work on a variety of projects. This position requires an advanced understanding of architectural design, technical detailing, building systems, and current construction practices. The primary function of a Senior Project Architect is to develop and coordinate the production of quality contract documents. Key Responsibilities:Participate in internal project kick-off meetings and understand project scope, milestones, and risk areas in order to establish appropriate QA/QC review timelines.Lead and perform QA/QC reviews at defined project milestones (e.g., SD, DD, 50% CDs, 90% CDs, permit sets, IFC) for:Adherence to firm and industry standards, clarity, and coordination.Constructability and integration with typical means and methods.Code, life safety, accessibility, and agency compliance.Sustainability goals and project-specific performance requirements.Other special conditions or client standards.Participate in and provide input to project teams in the production of high-quality drawings and specifications that can be easily interpreted by government agencies and efficiently utilized by contractors in the field.Evaluate plans and specifications prepared by internal teams and external consultants (architects, engineers, and other design professionals), identifying conflicts, gaps, and opportunities to improve clarity and constructability.Qualifications Include: Accredited architectural degree preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience in architecture. Licensure required. Proficiency in Revit required. Proficiency in AutoCAD. 3d representation and rendering experience a plus. Confident presentation skills.
