Primarily responsible for fabricating, installing, and repairing pipe, vessels, tubing, structural steel and other metal work and for safely fabricating, installing, maintaining, repairing and demolishing (as needed) foundations, pumps, blowers, agitators, mechanical seals and other rotating equipment and components. The successful candidate will be required to work, independently or in partnership with other staff members, on general mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and utility operation tasks. An on the job and off site training program will be available to support these required activities.We count on you for:Fully participate in plant health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) initiatives.Complete live and computer based training to comply with HS&E requirements and policiesAttend required daily and monthly safety meetingsCompletely understand and follow plant life critical proceduresUtilize appropriate PPE based on the job taskMaintain a high level of housekeeping in maintenance shops and maintenance owned plant areasInspect and test equipment prior to turn over to productionGenerator and handler of hazardous and universal waste-responsible for container labeling and marking and may collect samples to assist with characterization of wasteWeld carbon steel as well as 304L, 316L and 2205 Duplex stainless steel pipe and plate together using both submerged metal arc welding (SMAW or "stick") and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW, TIG, or "heli-arc") techniquesPerform related metal working tasks such as thermal cutting, plasma cutting, and grindingPosition and clamp components of fabricated metal products in preparation for weldingAssemble and install a variety of pipe, tube, and equipment; may use big and small cranes, chain fall, or come-a-long to position workAssemble pipe using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints and hand toolsSecure pipe to structure using brackets, clamps, and hangersCut pipe and steel using saw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, or pipe cutting / threading machineBend and install instrumentation stainless steel tubingFollow applicable specifications, particularly piping and welding specifications, such that piping is installed to standardDesign, fabricate and install foundations and support for rotating equipmentInstall, using all appropriate techniques, all types of rotating equipment to the highest industry and Syensqo standardsRebuild all types of rotating equipment back to original condition meeting all of the original equipment manufactures standards and specificationsAccurately align shafts to the accepted industry standards for excellence, using laser alignment equipmentAccurately diagnose and correct rotating equipment problems with minimal informationSafely replace small (25 hp or less) 220/480V motorsAssemble and install a variety of rotating and other equipment; may use big and small cranes, chain fall, or come-a-long to position workPerform some of the duties of a welder, such as arc welding, mig welding and oxyacetylene cuttingPerform related metal working tasks as required to manufacture supports, shields, etc., needed for safe, reliable repairs and installation of rotating equipmentTest fabricated and installed equipment to ensure adequacy of repair and safe operation upon commissioningLift and rig equipment and pipingOperate fork lift to transport work or maneuver equipment as necessaryOperate man lift or ladder to safety position self at a height to complete a taskAttend daily meeting to receive and discuss work orders that include dismantling, repair, or changing of pipes, valves, process equipment, structures, etc.Coordinate repairs with production to ensure work site has been prepared to avoid interfering with activities of other workersVerify proper life critical documentation is prepared prior to the start of workInspect work site to determine best possible placement and routing of equipment and pipelines to allow long-term maintainabilityAnalyze problems to determine materials needed to complete task and transports materials to job siteRemove product from dismantled equipment by washing surfaces prior to transportPerform housekeeping within areas of responsibility, both in the field and in the shopUtilize personal protective equipment (PPE) according to specific job taskPerform other duties or projects as specified by supervisorYou can count on us for: Be part of and contribute to a once-in-a-lifetime change journeyJoin a transversal and dynamic teamOpportunities for growth and learningEncouraging a diverse and inclusive workplace culture that values and respects individual differences and backgroundsYou will bring:7+ years in construction or maintenance in an industrial setting5+ years experience as a welder / pipe fitterMillwright experience a plusCompetency in welding by either previous demonstration of abilities or by passing Syensqo, Winder Plant hands-on, skills test.Must be able to calculate offsets and other variables need to fabricate and install threaded, socket weld and butt weld pipingCompetency in millwright skills by either previous demonstration of abilities or by passing Syensqo, Winder Plant hands-on, skills test.Must be able to calculate surfaces, volumes, weights, and measuresMust be able to read and understand safety rules, company policies and procedure manuals.Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formMust be able to read and interpret a variety of diagrams, blueprints, and operational manuals of shop tools and equipmentMust be able to solve practical problems using rational logic and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsMust be able to perform basic math using application of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions with algebra and geometric constructionsMust be able to document activities such as work completed or inspection observations on forms or work orders using legible handwriting and understandable verbiageMust be able to utilize the computer to process work orders and order supplies from store roomYou will get:Competitive salary and benefits packageThe U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is (optional: $33.00 to $40.00 per hour). Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range.
