About the role: We are looking for a Regulator (VR) Design Engineer to join our growing Processor Design group, advancing the art of high-performance System-On-Chip (SOC) design. In this role, you will design and implement various DC-DC buck/boost converters. This would involve collaborating with various other teams including power management, system architecture, platform, packaging and die teams. What you'll achieve: Work with various design teams to develop VR specifications and power-management strategy Assess various DC-DC converter configurations to develop the best-suited, application-specific designDesign, develop and implement VR designsWork with layout designers to ensure layout meets design specification and follows best known layout practicesGenerate and deliver design collaterals for integration Develop post-silicon validation plans to ensure silicon meets specificationsProvide leadership and technical guidance to other engineers About you: In-depth experience working on buck/boost DC-DC converters and Linear Drop-Out (LDO) regulators Expertise in Analog and Mixed-Signal circuit design with in-depth understanding of key concepts like noise, mismatch, high bandwidth building blocks, resonance, etc.Solid Grasp of multi-loop control theory principlesGood understanding of magnetics integration into systems is a plusFamiliarity with designing in latest FinFet technology nodes is a plusExperience with Cadence design suite for schematic entry, layout and Spice simulationsElectrical or Computer Engineering - Bachelor's degree & 8 years of related experience; or Master's degree & 6 years; or PhD & 3 years What we'll offer: At Ampere we believe in taking care of our employees and providing a competitive total rewards package that includes base pay, cash long-term incentive, and comprehensive benefits.
