This individual will inspect electrical components, ensure building systems comply with safety regulations, interpret and work from blueprints, diagnose and resolve issues, perform routine preventive maintenance, and provide technical guidance and training as needed. This is a dual-function role that combines the responsibilities of a skilled Electrician with general building maintenance duties. When electrical work is not required, the successful candidate will support the Building Operations Technicians by assisting with a variety of maintenance tasks to help ensure smooth and efficient facility operations. Key Responsibilities: Diagnosing electrical issues by reading diagrams and blueprintsInstalling and repairing wiring and conductive elements and electrical components in buildings and other structuresTesting and inspecting electrical work like wiring and lighting to ensure safe installation and compliance with regulatory codesPlanning and designing layouts of fixtures, wiring pathways and other electrical elements inside commercial and residential buildingsIdentifying and mitigating safety hazards, code violations and other electrical issuesPerforming system maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, adjusting, and fixingDelegating and directing the activities of outside contractors where needed including setting priorities, performing quality control checks and certifying invoices.Completion of electronic or paper-based records of maintenance tasks.Support the Building Operations Technicians by assisting with a variety of maintenance tasks to help ensure smooth and efficient facility operations when there are no electrical items to take care ofPerform other duties as assigned by managerQualifications:Journeyman Electrician certificate At least two years of work experience as Commercial Journeyman Electrician in theA high school or obtain a GED diploma.Lift up to 50 lbs.Completion of an electrician apprenticeshipRelevant industry certification per state regulations (USA).A valid driver's licenseWhile we appreciate all applications we receive, we advise that only candidates under consideration will be contacted.Ainsworth (a GDI company) is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
