Company DescriptionCCV Stars is a year-round, rapidly growing, multi-site outreach ministry of CCV that exists to connect the community through sports. Stars provides a comprehensive program that not only develops the skills of players, but also comes alongside the parents to help form a foundation that will develop character and integrity, making sports more than a game. CCV Stars is the largest youth sports program of its kind with over 20,000 youth participants each year. We currently offer various levels of flag football, baseball, soccer, and basketball at various times of the year. The Stars Pastor will be responsible for all aspects of their campus' sports ministry, including oversight over the many volunteers necessary to execute. Job DescriptionEssential Job Functions Ministry: Reinforce the mission of Stars to move people across the parking lot to CCVBuilding relationships with Stars families & coachesGuide coaches and volunteers to grow in their next stepsEnsure More Than A Game elements like huddles, cards, and prayer are taking placeHelp integrate the Stars ministry with other CCV ministriesProgramming: Constantly recruiting and training volunteers for coaches, guest services, and field opsImplement and execute leagues and camps (make teams, schedules, maps, referees, etc)Communicate information, updates, and promotions regularly with Stars familiesSupport volunteer coaches as needed during practices and gamesConnect with local community, schools, and city functions to promote Stars to the communityOperations: Ensure facility ready for all practices/games (signage, equipment, fields/courts, restrooms, etc)Manage and steward facility and equipment/inventoryOversee safety and quality of facility, handling minor repairs and communicating with landscapersMiscellaneous: Ability to multitask and manage time, often working on 2-3 seasons at a timeVariable schedule including ~2 nights a week and Saturdays on the fields during seasonAssist and contribute to non-Stars related campus wide eventsQualificationsMinimum Qualifications Character & Chemistry Alignment with CCV core values: Commitment to Excellence-We set ridiculously high expectations and exceed them.Heart for Evangelism-We will risk it all to win one more.Relationships-We value people over process.Integrity-We follow through every time.Servant Attitude-We pick up trash.Teamwork-We celebrate teamwork over talent.Fully engaged (or willingness to) in CCV Next Steps: Baptism-by immersion at an age of decisionWorship-regularly attend CCV service with familyConnect-participation in CCV small groupServe-volunteer somewhere within a CCV ministryGive-returning at least a full 10% tithe to the local church CCVCompetency Interpersonal Skills-connect well relationally with people from all walks of life and various levels of spiritual maturityConflict Resolution-able to diffuse upset people and facilitate conversations between parties at oddsLeadership Skills-lead Stars volunteers and families to execute the program and keep focus on missionCustomer Focus-going the extra mile to love people well and prioritize convenience with how we programDrive for Results-being a self-starter and taking initiative necessary to meet and exceed expectationsSelf-Development-constantly growing in skills needed for the job, spiritual and leadership growth, seeks feedbackStrategic Planning Skills-ability to multitask and manage time as often working on 2-3 seasons at onceAdministrative Skills-prioritizing details necessary to run organized programs, execute established processesEducation and Experience College experience preferredPrevious leadership experience highly desiredCoaching and Stars experience are assetsProficient in Microsoft OfficeAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
