Structural Designer

Structural Designer Location: Pittsburgh, PA Type: Contact to hire Pay: $35 - $50/hr Summary The Structural Designer role offers the opportunity to design state-of-the-art facilities across a diverse range of markets, including industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, real estate, solid waste, power, and public sector projects. Responsibilities * Coordinate with structural engineers to design buildings and building foundations, equipment foundations, masonry structures, and miscellaneous concrete and steel structures * Evaluate and resolve design issues by reviewing multiple information sources and coordinating criteria with other disciplines * Develop structural material take-offs * Generate structural hour estimates for ongoing work and new proposals * Provide quality oversight for structural designs completed by others Qualifications * Associates or technical degree preferred * 4+ years of experience on commercial and heavy industrial/manufacturing projects * Minimum of 1 year demonstrated proficiency with Revit * Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and senior designers * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to perform field/site visits as needed Preferred Qualifications * Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam * Understanding of structural engineering codes and standards This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or visa transfer now or in the future.
