As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will help drive manufacturing excellence by developing, optimizing, and supporting the tools, equipment, and processes that improve quality, boost productivity, and reduce cost. As a key partner across operations, you'll represent Manufacturing Engineering in cross-functional meetings and project teams, bringing strong technical judgment and a continuous-improvement mindset to every initiative.In this role, you'll stay current on modern manufacturing methods and technologies, identifying opportunities to introduce new programs and innovative concepts. You'll design, build, and document fixtures and tooling, troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, and lead projects from research and planning through implementation. Projects may include capital equipment upgrades, production-line continuous improvement, and branch and company-wide Industry 4.0 initiatives. You'll also provide dedicated engineering support to critical Metal Fabrication production lines, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.Essential ResponsibilitiesRepresent the Department Manager as needed in their absence; represent other divisions in local/corporate vendor activities when required.Provide technical manufacturing engineering support to all Bobrick production facilities; troubleshoot and resolve production-related engineering issues.Plan, direct, coordinate, and execute complex projects, including team leadership, proposal development, payback analysis, vendor coordination, and status reporting.Serve as Manufacturing's Technical Representative on multidisciplinary project teams.Develop and maintain reporting tools and systems (reports, trackers, databases, charts/graphs) for safety, quality, cost, scrap, labor, utilization, maintenance, and related KPIs.Prepare special reports and deliver presentations to leadership and cross-functional peer groups.Conduct time and motion / work studies; establish standard production rates, estimate costs, and identify efficiency improvements.Create and maintain charts, graphs, workflow diagrams, routings, and factory layouts.Analyze material handling methods and machine/equipment utilization to improve flow and performance.Design manufacturing processes and workspace/equipment layouts to maximize safety, quality, and efficiency, aligned with Bobrick Flow Manufacturing principles (including Self-Balancing Cells).Evaluate, document, and continuously improve manufacturing methods and products using strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.Create, maintain, and audit production documentation (VMPs, routers, cell rules, and other controlled documents) to ensure alignment with current processes and product revisions.Partner with Management, Design Engineering, QA, and other stakeholders on production capabilities, schedules, new products, ECOs, and process changes; participate on committees as needed.Consult with Design Engineering to support design-for-manufacturing and improve producibility.Analyze capacity vs. demand; recommend workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow improvements.Perform producibility cost studies and support make/buy decisions.Evaluate and recommend capital equipment and tooling; develop business cases and justification packages (payback, POR, CER, project justification forms, NPV, special reports).Support manufacturing automation initiatives using custom equipment and/or robotics; create machine specifications and RFQs for custom solutions.Coordinate with Purchasing and vendors to source and procure equipment, tooling, and materials.Evaluate equipment against specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.Track project progress against schedule; escalate and initiate corrective actions to meet objectives.Research emerging manufacturing technologies and methods; provide recommendations and keep leadership informed of relevant advancements.Support the Quality Policy and corporate quality goals by identifying and eliminating issues that impact performance; help prevent defects using Bobrick's Four Level Defect Grading System.Recommend, evaluate, and support outside manufacturing sources as needed.Work in alignment with Business Unit Directors (BUDs) to support shared goals and priorities.QualificationsBachelor's (B.S.) or technical degree from a four-year college/university.10+ years of progressive experience as a Manufacturing or Industrial Engineer (or equivalent combination of education and experience).Excellent team/project leadership, analytical problem solving and written/verbal communication skillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or government regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.Comfortable presenting information and responding to questions from employees, managers, customers, and vendors.Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email) and databases/spreadsheets.Desired, but required.AutoCAD; Microsoft Access (or similar database tools)PLC programming and robotics/automation experienceMachine shop and woodworking knowledgeAPICS (materials/production control) and/or cost accounting knowledgeSupervisory experienceManufacturing experience with:Sheet metal fabrication and stampingDies and toolingWeldingRoll formingMolded plastic partsSalary: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00Benefits:MedicalDentalVision401(k) Retirement PlanLife and AD&DLong- and Short-Term Disability InsuranceFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Health Savings Account (HSA)Paid time off for vacation, sick and personal days'Parental LeaveEducational Assistance ProgramEmployee Assistance ProgramPet InsuranceWhy Join Bobrick?You'll find the stability of a long-established company with the growth opportunities of a trusted industry leader.
