Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.Job SummaryThe Assistant Teacher for the 4-5 year old classroom supports the Lead Teacher in providing a nurturing, faith-centered, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. The Assistant Teacher helps foster the spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical growth of each child while modeling Catholic values and promoting a positive classroom community.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.Support play-based and structured learning experiences.Help prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions.Promote positive behavior and assist with classroom management.Support children in developing social skills and resolving conflicts appropriately.Assist with toileting, handwashing, and other age-appropriate self-care routines as needed.Job RequirementsExperience working with preschool or pre-kindergarten children (4-5 year olds).Understanding of early childhood development.Practicing Catholic (preferred, according to diocesan policy).Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from the Lead TeacherThe Archdiocese of St. Louis is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
