In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Technology and the district technology team to ensure the district's technology ecosystem runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on technical problem-solving and strategic thinking. You will support staff and students, maintain and improve critical technology systems, manage data and system integrations, and help implement innovative tools that enhance learning. From troubleshooting devices and managing system integrations to advancing cybersecurity and exploring emerging technologies like AI, your work will have a direct impact on the daily experiences of educators and students. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*): * Leadership & Strategic Planning * Assist the Director of Technology with planning and implementing district-wide technology operations. * Monitor district operations to ensure technology systems are functioning properly. * Proactively recommend operational improvements, upgrades, and procedures to minimize downtime and improve productivity. * Technical Support & Troubleshooting * Provide on-site and remote support for district technology, including workstations, laptops, peripherals, printers, projection devices, etc. * Install and configure software and hardware, and perform routine maintenance. * Manage district ticketing system, coordinating with technology staff to respond to, assign, and complete support requests, including network connectivity issues and password resets. * Systems Administration * Support and maintain district applications, internal servers, user desktops, and web-based systems, including troubleshooting, backup, and archiving. * Assist with the user accounts for staff and students across various school systems. * Data Management & Systems Integration * Maintain and administer the student information system and coordinate integration between district systems (SIS, LMS, assessment platforms). * Query, analyze, and manipulate student data to support district reporting and operational needs. * Security & Compliance * Provide security assistance and education to end users. * Ensure compliance with federal and state student data privacy laws (FERPA, COPPA, CIPA). * Manage data privacy agreements, vendor compliance documentation, and conduct privacy impact assessments for new technology implementations. * Support district staff in understanding and following data privacy regulations and best practices. * Emerging Technology & Innovation * Stay current with emerging educational technologies, including AI developments. * Assist with the implementation of district initiatives as directed by the Director of Technology. * Remain responsive to and supportive of innovative instructional and technology practices. * Provide technical support for instructional technology platforms, including LMS, assessment tools, and educational applications. * Assist teachers with the technical aspects of instructional technology tools. * Vendor & Resource Management * Manage relationships with technology vendors and consultants to resolve technical issues, maximize support contracts, identify software fixes and patches, ensure successful project completion, and evaluate proposals for projects. * Manage asset lifecycle for district-owned technology, including tracking, acquisition, distribution, maintenance, warranty repairs, recycling, and disposal. * Maintain parts depot for equipment, software licenses, and IT supplies. * Process technology-related quotes and invoices, and manage requisitions for approved purchases in coordination with the Director of Technology. * Coordination & Collaboration * Facilitate communication regarding technology use and system issues while collaborating with other departments to ensure timely project completion. * Documentation & Process Management * Build and maintain documentation of technical processes, procedures, workflows, and standard operating procedures. * Create and update user guides, troubleshooting documentation, and knowledge base articles. * Professional Development & Expertise * Take initiative and responsibility for ongoing professional development, staying current with advancing technology through self-directed learning and professional development activities. * Provide technical input on hardware and software configurations and requirements as requested by the Director of Technology. QUALIFICATIONS: * Demonstrate knowledge of relational database skills. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents, and the community. * Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. * Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats with students, staff, parents, and community members. * Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives. * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. * Demonstrated ability to follow through on tasks and commitments to completion. * Growth mindset with willingness to learn and continually develop new skills. * Experience building and maintaining documentation of processes and procedures. * Ability to work with student data systems and manipulate data for analysis and reporting. * Additional qualifications as the Board of Education may require. PHYSICAL/OTHER REQUIREMENTS: * Able to access all areas of District facilities, including transportation, operations, and maintenance, appropriate classroom, library/media, performance, and office areas. * Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. * Able to present information to individuals, small groups, and large groups in a clear and compelling manner. * Able to work successfully with teachers, administrators, students, and the community. * Able to plan ahead yet remain flexible enough to adapt to new situations or react to emergencies. * Able to interact well with other people, but also able to work independently. ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS: * Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue. * Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions. * Occasional travel and/or evening/weekend work.
