Job Title: Student Advisor, Evening School (YouthBuild Philly Flex)Part-Time, 10 monthReports To: Evening School Principal Supervisory Responsibilities: NoHours of Operation: The YouthBuild Evening School Program (YouthBuild Philly Flex) operates on an evening schedule designed for students who work during the day. This role is part-time and requires availability during evening instructional hours, typically 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM, along with occasional additional time for planning, professional development, and student events.New Staff Orientation is held August 13, 2026 & August 14, 2026.YouthBuild Orientation (First Day of School) is August 24-27, 2026.Who We Are:YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School is a tuition free public charter high school serving young people ages 17-20 who have been pushed out of traditional schools. Our program supports students in earning a high school diploma while gaining career exposure, industry certifications, and postsecondary pathways. YouthBuild operates within a restorative, community centered culture grounded in respect, excellence, and perseverance. The Evening School (YouthBuild Philly Flex) is a new program designed for students who are working during the day and need a flexible pathway to earn their diploma and build a career path.The Opportunity:The Evening School Student Advisor serves as the primary case manager for students in the evening program. This role supports students in identifying and reducing barriers to success, monitoring academic and attendance progress, and developing clear postsecondary plans.Evening School students often balance work, family responsibilities, and school. Three or more years of case management or youth support experienceKnowledge of Philadelphia based community resources preferredExperience working with opportunity youth or alternative education settings preferredStart-of-Year Planning & Orientation:Prior to the start of the school year, the Evening School Student Advisor will participate in onboarding, orientation, and collaborative planning to prepare for the launch of the Evening School Program.This includes: Participating in new staff orientation and professional developmentCollaborating with school leadership and colleagues to understand program structures, schedules, and student supportsEngaging in curriculum planning and unit preparation prior to the start of instructionPreparing classroom systems, materials, and expectations for the start of the school yearWhat You Will Do:Conduct student needs assessments and develop individualized action plansIdentify and address barriers to attendance, academic success, and persistenceMonitor daily attendance and conduct follow up outreach as neededMonitor academic progress and collaborate with teachers to support student successMaintain accurate case notes, documentation, and compliance recordsConnect students to school based and community based resourcesSupport postsecondary planning and coordinate with Senior Seminar and workforce staffFacilitate intervention meetings and monitor student progress plansProvide mentorship to a cohort of 4-5 students, offering consistent academic and personal support to help them stay on track toward meeting graduation requirementsPerform other duties, as assigned by the Evening School PrincipalWhat We Offer You:Competitive hourly rate ($40.00 per hour)Option to enroll in our 401(k) savings planSupportive and collaborative work environmentStrong community support and involvementGenerous time off Other part time employee hiring options and benefits are available and will be discussed during the hiring process This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.
