Job Type Full-timeDescriptionThe Director of HR will report to the Chief Financial Officer and manage a Human Resources Coordinator. This role will work closely with the senior leaders to shape culture, support growth, and ensure strong, compliant people practices. In addition, this person will take an active role in the integration of two recently acquired companies with dispersed personnel.This is a hybrid role, ideally requiring presence weekly in our office at least three days per week in Hackensack New Jersey. It will be the right fit for a high-impact HR leader who enjoys being close to the business-setting direction while also rolling up their sleeves to execute with care, clarity, and sound judgment. Join us as we shape the future of work in long-term care.RequirementsTalent & RecruitmentOwn recruiting strategy and candidate experience across the organizationPartner with hiring leaders to define role scope, compensation, and hiring prioritiesManage recruiting platforms and the annual recruiting budgetEmployee Relations & HR PracticeLead employee relations matters with discretion, empathy, and sound judgmentTrain and support managers on performance management and feedback practicesMaintain and evolve HR policies, handbooks, and internal documentationPartner with internal Corporate Counsel as needed on complex or sensitive mattersPeople Development & PerformanceOwn the annual performance review process, tools, and communication strategySupport leadership development, role clarity, and accountability across teamsCompensation & BenefitsLead compensation and benefits strategy in partnership with Finance and senior leadershipManage annual compensation and bonus cyclesResearch and support incentive programs aligned to business and team needsOrganizational Development & CultureServe as a strategic advisor to leadership on org design, growth planning, and change managementSupport leaders in defining structure, ownership, and accountabilityShape internal communication rhythms and rituals for a distributed workforceProtect and evolve company culture as the organization scalesEXPERIENCE10+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior partnership with founders and/or CEOsExperience supporting a fully remote organizationStrong background in recruiting, organizational development, and employee relationsExperience in a scaling, founder-led environment strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to build HR programs from concept through executionFamiliarity with HRIS, specifically with Paylocity is a plus ATTRIBUTESEntrepreneurial yet structured; strategic and hands-onWarm, collaborative, and groundedConfident without ego; comfortable operating in lean environmentsExcellent communicator with strong judgmentTrusted advisor who leads through influence and partnershipBalances financial discipline with empathy and creativityUnwavering commitment to ethics, integrity, and high standardsAt Smartlinx we live our brand values, everyday, to deliver on our mission.
