With a coveted location neighboring the charms of River Oaks, and the culture of Uptown's energy, The Greenleigh is the one place that truly celebrates, and elevates, the unexpected nature of Houston.At The Greenleigh, we are seeking a Banquet Chef to leadthe planning, preparation, and execution of banquet culinary operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, presentation, and service for meetings, weddings, and special events.This role works closely with the Executive Chef, culinary team, and banquet leadership to deliver seamless event execution while maintaining the highest culinary and operational standards.Requested TasksPlan and direct food preparation and culinary activities for the banquet kitchenReview banquet event orders (BEOs) daily to ensure proper preparation and executionPartner with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and Banquet Captain to coordinate event planning and serviceModify or develop menus that meet quality standards and event requirementsManage inventory levels to ensure necessary ingredients and supplies are availableMonitor food and labor costs to maintain operational efficiencyRecruit, train, and manage banquet culinary team membersConduct final quality checks on plated dishes to ensure presentation and consistencyEnsure strict adherence to cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standardsReview staffing levels to ensure operational needs and guest expectations are metRequested CapabilitiesPrior experience as a Chef requiredPrior kitchen leadership or management experience requiredThorough knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and food preparation techniquesKnowledge of current culinary trends and banquet service executionAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysAbility to stand, walk, and work with kitchen tools and equipment for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds related to kitchen inventoryAbility to taste and evaluate food quality and presentationAs part of the Makeready collection, we proudly offer a variety of thoughtful benefits and perks for eligible team members, including accommodating PTO/PTO exchange, medical/dental/vision benefits, maternity/paternity leave, pet insurance, company-matched dependent care & 401k, student loan repayment program, and a wide range of additional ancillary benefits.
