The Paint Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and reliability of all paint shop equipment and systems within the assembly plant. This role ensures optimal performance, safety, and compliance of paint operations through strategic planning, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives. Core Hours: 5:00pm - 1:00amShift is subject to change based on business needs; Must be willing to work any shift.Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of supervisors, specialist, and skilled trades in the Paint area.Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for paint shop equipment (robots, ovens, conveyors, booths, etc.). Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and automation issues. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations related to paint operations.Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support operational goals. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies. Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles. Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate reports on equipment performance and downtime.Support capital projects and equipment upgrades within the paint shop. Monitor KPIs such as downtime, MTTR, MTBF, and maintenance costs, through the Shop Floor Management (SFM) process. Train and develop maintenance personnel to enhance technical skills and safety awareness. Maintain documentation for equipment, maintenance procedures, and compliance audits. Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma and minimum of 6 years of industrial automation maintenance experience, including some supervisory experience Ability to work any shift and overtime as requiredExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as requiredAbility to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customersAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyDemonstrated ability to coach / mentor / develop team membersGoal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teamExperience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing Troubleshooting and programming experience in one of the following: controls, robotics, drives and system level communication systems, sealing systems, glass cell systems, various conveyance systems, welding - all types, paint process and associated systems, vision systems and sensors use and applicationExperience with machine, systems operation and integrationMust possess a working knowledge of advanced technical problem-solving toolsMust have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in technical/engineering field (i.e., BSME or BSEE)Previous experience working in a union environmentProduction/maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environmentFamiliar with World Class Manufacturing pillar methodology and implementationSeven or more years maintenance experience in a manufacturing/automotive environmentKnowledge of welding processes (i.e. resistance spot welding)Experience with Control Net Networks, Device Net Networks, ABBExperience with RS Logic, PLC-5, Control Logics, Allen Bradley Drive Systems, machine installation, robotic automation and applicationExperience with body shop, stamping press automation or subassembliesGood working knowledge of Google Suite software programs
