SumBridge is hiring an Accounting Manager to join our Kirkland based client. This is a full-time, permanent position. The Accounting Manager will report to the Corporate Controller, manage a team of 2 direct reports and 6 indirect reports, and is responsible for managing the regular accounting cycle, which includes areas of financial reporting, month-end close process, annual audits, and overseeing AP, AR, and Payroll. This role is a hybrid schedule with a mix of in office and work from home time. Responsibilities:Manage and develop the accounting staffLead month-end close process and prepare financial statements and related analysis in compliance with GAAPLead the annual audit and any other audit requests that come upCreate, maintain, and improve accounting processes and procedures, internal controls and system processes for efficient reportingPrepare ad-hoc analyses and presentations for leadership that delivers a thorough picture of the financials, including variance analysis, interpretation, and budget vs. actual performance analysisCoordinate and partner with the Corporate Finance team to meet reporting and audit requirements and participate in overall process improvement initiativesPerform other projects and tasks as assignedQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred, but not required5+ years in an equivalent role with a medium to large-size companyHigh proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, and other accounting toolsManufacturing experience strongly preferred; aerospace industry a plusStrong understanding of GAAP; working knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation; experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition a plusExperience and interest in managing an end-to-end process, which involves multiple stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to translate business performance and financial results; understanding and ability to articulate how the business operatesAbility to explain financial results/information to non-financial groups and individualsStrong analytical/quantitative skills, critical thinker, and an innate curiosity to find actionable insights in a timely mannerSelf-starter with a growth mindset and the ability to work in an unstructured environment, manage longer-term projects, and proactively identify solutionsStrong interpersonal skills with capability to start and maintain new relationships across many facets of the businessExcellent organizational, communication, writing, and math skills
