We are looking to hire a key member of our Operations team at our Savannah, Georgia location.The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance on process and production equipment throughout the facility. Duties may include but are not limited to pipe fitting, welding, sheet metal fabrication, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment and preventative maintenance with the goal of improving facility and process reliability. Work shifts may include 8- or 12-hour shifts, which will be days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays. Plant operations occur in a 24/7 environment and required work includes work that may be in inclement weather, as part of confined space entry or as part of a confined space team and may occur at heights up to 150 feet. Participation in Confined Space, Emergency Response, and Safety programs and processes are required.Key ResponsibilitiesObserve all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment; report all injuries, accidents and hazards immediatelyPerform mechanical, electrical, electronic repair and preventive maintenanceProvide emergency/unscheduled repairs in a timely mannerRead equipment manuals as needed assure appropriate operation and repair of equipmentComplete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as neededInstall and Dismantle EquipmentMechanical Tools, Equipment, and SystemsInspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with specifications and codesComputer skills - Able to use available computer systems and MS Office products with little or no assistanceCommunicating effectively and working with others - Able to work with peers and engineering support to develop and implement solutions to problems/issuesProblem Solving / Troubleshooting - Able to obtain, analyze and interpret data/information and develop solutions to issues/problemsRead Technical Drawings and BlueprintsTroubleshootingRequired SkillsCalculate Dimension/TolerancePipefitting, pipe assembly and installation - PreferredSteam tracing repairsEquipment LubricationInstall and Dismantle EquipmentPump rebuilds and installation - preferredMaintain EquipmentMathematics KnowledgeKnowledge and understanding of up to 480v electrical circuits - preferredMechanical Tools, Equipment, and SystemsOperate MachinesRepair Machines and EquipmentTroubleshootingChemical industry experience is a plusMust have Industrial experienceEducation, Certifications & LicensesHigh School Diploma/GED Required4-year maintenance apprenticeship or journeyman certification or similar structured training program with equivalent work experience is requiredThe statements above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this classification.
