Roles & ResponsibilitiesNegotiate procurement terms, balancing cost, quality, and delivery requirements.Investigate and propose supplier solutions based on company needs.Maintain MRP system data, including lead times, pricing, and vendor material numbers.Support supplier localization efforts, including identification, RFQs, onboarding, and FAI.Collaborate with engineering and suppliers to resolve specification and material substitution queries.Ensure compliance with UL and other technical requirements related to assigned commodities.Resolve Accounts Payable invoice discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams.Manage and coordinate engineering change orders (ECOs) within procurement and engineering teams.Analyze performance metrics to drive efficiency and cost savings.Mentor junior buyers to support departmental goals.Experience RequiredMinimum 2-3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.Experience with MRP and supply chain management software (Great Plains preferred).Proven track record in procurement, supplier management, and cost analysis.Skills & CertificationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills for reporting and decision-making.Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments and suppliers.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (pivot tables, advanced functions), and PowerPoint.Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented team player.Eligibilities & qualificationsBachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience required.Ability to independently manage procurement tasks and supplier relationships.
