JOB DESCRIPTION: As an Entry-Level Electrical/Controls Engineer specializing in Automated Material Handling (AMH), you will support the design, development, and implementation of control systems for AMH solutions. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will gain hands-on experience contributing to the creation of efficient, reliable, and safe automation systems that meet client needs. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Project Support and Collaboration: * Assist senior engineers and technical teams on AMH projects, learning about technical processes and project execution. * Collaborate with cross-functional project teams (including Mechanical, Software, Project Management, and Installation) to understand the project lifecycle from design through commissioning. * Support the engineering team by assisting with technical documentation and project details. * Learn to interact with customer engineering teams under supervision, observing communication and technical guidance processes. * AMH System Support and Learning: * Learn about the design and development of control systems for various AMH equipment, such as conveyors, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), and robotic palletizers/depalletizers. * Assist in creating and organizing control system documentation, including reviewing electrical schematics, network diagrams, HMI layouts, and I/O drawings under guidance. * Learn to identify and understand the function of sensors, actuators, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo systems, and other control components used in AMH applications. * Assist in generating Bills of Materials (BOMs) for control system components. * Support the development of installation and commissioning plans. * Provide on-site support assistance for system installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting as directed. * Learn how safety standards and risk assessment findings are incorporated into designs. EDUCATION & TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent working experience in related technical fields. * Familiarity with basic electrical concepts and circuits. * Willingness to travel domestically up to 15-40% of the time for site visits, commissioning assistance, and meetings as required. * Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for critical system support, as required, with senior engineer backup. * Familiarity with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical design software is a plus. * Exposure to PLC concepts and programming platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) through coursework or projects is a plus. * Interest in learning about industrial robots, vision systems, and other automation technologies is a plus.
