This position is responsible for self-performing field observations and/or tests as directed with minimal analysis of data. Under the direction of other technicians or staff professionals, perform routine field and/or laboratory tasks. Assist technician or staff professional in complex tasks, including field work, research, data compilation and report preparation for each project, depending on the scope of work and client needs.RESPONSIBILITIESTeam member on projects providing assistance to experienced building envelope consultantsObserve, document, and report whether or not the measurable attributes of construction conform to the construction drawings, project specifications, and manufacturers' installation guidelinesPerform roofing, waterproofing, and building enclosure field observations and/or testing under the direction of senior staffWork outdoors on construction sites performing observation visits, existing condition surveys and destructive and non-destructive tests in accordance with industry standardsAssist with field investigations and condition assessments and develop construction documents, details and specificationsWriting summary and technical reports under the direction of senior staffEvaluate contractor performance to ensure project deliverables and quality standards are achievedContribute to maintaining and improving quality controlPerform other duties as assignedCommunicates with senior staff and management to discuss and develop solutions to recognized concernsAdhere to company and client safety practices and policies at all times QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent4+ years' experience in a similar role and demonstrated competence in work assignments are preferred2+ years AutoCAD/Revit experience are preferredRoof Consultants Institute "RCI", RRO or EWRO registration or ability to obtainCertified EIFS inspector, Certified Thermographer or similar certifications are preferredKnowledge of building materials and constructions processes for design and repairs of roofs and building envelopesKnowledge of building components, systems and cost estimatingKnowledge of multiple types of commercial roofing, exterior cladding and waterproofing systemsAbility to read and understand architectural drawings and related specification sectionsDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and VisioA demonstrable track record of excellent time management skills combined with the capability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentThe ability and willingness to travel potentially 40% to 60% of the timeFollow OSHA regulations and other regulatory agencies relating to job site safety, demonstrates safe work practicesAbility to physically navigate site properties in various weather conditions and the ability to climb a ladder and gain access to roofsAbility to operate scissor and boom lifts; Certification preferredAble to handle at least 50 lbs regularlyValid Driver's licensePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to read, write, speak & comprehend EnglishMust be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephoneVisual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screenRequires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shiftCOMPENSATION Salary range: $80,000 to $120,000. This is what we reasonably expect to pay for the roleThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
