Manufacturing Technician - Optical & Mechanical Inspection (Swing Shift) Pay Rate: $40.16 - $48.58/hr DOE Employment Type: Contract - 1 Year Est. End Date: March 2027 Schedule: Swing Shift | 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM Hours: Full-Time | 40 hours/week Location: Santa Clara, CA 95051 Job Code: MSP Req #36824020Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Manufacturing Technician - Optical & Mechanical Inspection Technician (Swing Shift) to work on-site with our client, a global leader in electronic measurement and testing solutions. This role supports the Order Fulfillment organization and requires hands-on expertise in optical inspection, mechanical assembly, and precision measurement. As a W2 employee of Tekberry, you will have access to health benefits. Responsibilities: Perform optical and mechanical inspection using precision measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, autocollimators, interferometers, laser rails, and optical CMMs Operate computer-automated test systems and accurately document test results Use laser alignment and optical test systems to support inspection and verification activities Perform mechanical assembly using hand tools and mechanical fixturing Clean and inspect optical components and assemblies (lenses, mirrors, prisms, ROMs) using approved solvents and procedures Support new product introduction (NPI) programs by providing feedback to engineering on inspection and assembly processes Follow detailed written and verbal work instructions while maintaining high quality and safety standards Collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional team members Must-Have Qualifications: 2-5 years of experience in optical inspection for plano optics, including prisms and ROMs Experience operating optical test systems and laser alignment equipment Strong understanding of basic optics technology Experience supporting NPI programs in a manufacturing environment Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and attention to detail Adequate visual acuity for precision inspection (color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus) Ability to read, follow, and communicate work instructions clearly in English (read, write, speak) Intermediate math skills, including basic math and geometry Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Strong teamwork and communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in electronics manufacturing or high-precision manufacturing environments Familiarity with optical assembly process development and continuous improvement initiatives We need hard-working, reliable employees.
