Driving added value to our customers through the talented execution of our employees and the pursuit to provide extraordinary service for our customers is what has built our company and its national reputation for integrity.Job DescriptionThe Fleet Mechanic will complete preventative maintenance activities and maintain fleet records regarding vehicles. This position will uphold AWP's core values and mission of protecting our customers' people, business and time. The Fleet Mechanic position is responsible for repairs and routine maintenance within the assigned facility or remote locations when needed.Perform preventative maintenance activities• Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles/trailed devices; complete preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, brake systems and electrical devices/troubleshooting - arrow boards and message boards• Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conduct inspections; repair engine failures; repair mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replace parts and components• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet equipment and various equipment• Experience in gasoline/diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical issues, light duty and medium duty trucks with attenuators• Inspect and evaluation of fleet and equipment• Adhere to maintenance programs and procedures• Maintain asset branding procedures• Monitor and maintain vehicle equipment standardsOther duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED completion required1-2 years' prior experience in related field preferredExcellent verbal and nonverbal communication skillsIntermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products and customer relationship management systemsMust be able to follow safe workplace practicesValid Driver's License void of suspension or revocation and is insurable per company policiesEmployee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include the following:Primarily M-F, 8a-5pFrequent exposure to fumes or airborne particlesFrequent exposure to a variety of extreme conditions within Body Shop including high noise level in the work environmentThe position may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphaltPosition lifts or carries objects up to 50 poundsStands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions; employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objectsPosition requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordinationAdditional InformationHealth/Life InsuranceCompany TruckProfit Sharing ProgramCareer Growth401(k)Paid Time Off & Paid HolidaysAWP named one of America's Greatest Workplaces 2023 for DiversityAWP Safety is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
