Founded in 1983, SCGA Junior Golf Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Southern California Golf Association. SCGA Junior Golf Foundation's programs emphasize both player and youth development by providing a fun, safe, and engaging community for players, parents, and coaches.Position Summary: The Program Coordinator is a full-time, non-exempt opportunity assisting with the operation, growth, and exposure of the player & youth development programs (herein PYD) focused in the Riverside and Orange County communities. The Program Coordinator and PYD team implement positive youth development, and golf and athlete development programming, for juniors within the community. The Program Coordinator serves as a lead golf instructor, supports operations, assists with curriculum development, as well as overall growth and development of youth coaches. The incumbent will be assigned to work at various field locations within the defined geographical boundary and community. This position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, with a starting hourly rate of $24.00 per hour.Workplace Locations Fairmount Golf Course 2681 Dexter Dr, Riverside, CA 92501 Willowick Golf Course 3017 W 5th St, Santa Ana, CA 92703 SCGA Junior Golf Foundation Headquarters 3740 Cahuenga Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coaching & Instruction Serves as a lead golf instructor at beginner, intermediate and advanced level programming and other events as necessary while promoting best practices regarding safety and SCGA Junior Golf Foundation policies Deliver high -level, developmentally appropriate golf instruction that aligns with SCGA Junior Golf Foundation curriculum and positive youth development principles Create a fun, inclusive, and safe learning environment for youth ages 5-17 Recruit, schedule, and conduct individual lessons and small-group instruction Administer equipment fittings and ensure proper use of equipment Model and reinforce program values, safety standards, and best practices at all times Program Operations & Administration Oversee and implement all program operations and safety policies at Riverside and Orange County facilities Manage, collect and report on rosters, attendance, registrations, equipment inventory, and program data Assist with curriculum development and program modifications to ensure goals are met Community Outreach & Program Growth Act as an educator and ambassador for junior golf within the community Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, facilities, and stakeholders Identify creative outreach opportunities to introduce golf to new audiences Help grow the program by increasing participation, awareness, and access to resources Support efforts to expand programming in ways that generate additional resources to reinvest into youth services Team Leadership & Development Provide supervision, feedback, and ongoing training to coaches Support the growth and development of youth coaches through mentorship and best practices Participate in professional development opportunities including PYD training, certifications, and golf education Minimum Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field of study and/or combination of acceptable education and relative work experience Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in youth programming, education, recreation, operations, administrative, and/or other work environment with similar responsibilitiesHigh level golf playing experience or high level golf coaching experience strongly preferredCustomer service approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; outgoing and comfortable in administering small group presentationsAbility to confidently use common workplace technology platforms for email communication, scheduling, virtual collaboration, and document organization Ability to work independently while also effectively interacting and collaborating with other departments and team members to achieve various organizational goalsAble to troubleshoot, pivot, and adapt to changing situations and environmentsConveys a positive demeanor that is professional and approachable at all timesMust be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, to include bending/stooping; able to lift and move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs. with minimal assistanceAble to work outdoors for extended periods of time and in various elements of weatherFlexible schedule; must be available to work evenings and weekends as requiredAccess to reliable transportation and able to travel with timely arrival to assigned working locations as requiredIf the candidate does not already possess CPR Certification, they must obtain it within 60 days of hire (certification cost, including time spent obtaining the certification, is paid by the organization)The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
