Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Industrial Distribution & M&ASalary: $175,000 - $225,000 + Annual Bonus tied to KPI'sLocation: Tampa / Gibsonton, FL (Onsite)Travel: 10-30% (Regional/National)POSITION OVERVIEWOur client is a dominant leader in the marine construction supply industry, currently executing an aggressive "Buy & Build" growth strategy.We are seeking a high-impact, hands-on COO to architect a scalable operating platform. You will partner directly with the Owner to transform a successful local operation into a multi-site national powerhouse. While the Owner focuses on deal-making, you will own the Post-Acquisition Integration Playbook and the day-to-day P&L.CORE STRATEGIC PILLARS The Scalability Architect: Translate a $50M vision into a functional roadmap. You aren't just managing what exists; you are building the systems (ERP/WMS) and SOPs that will be "copy-pasted" into every new acquisition. M&A Integration Lead: Own the end-to-end operational integration of acquired companies. You will manage Day 1 transitions and 90-day synergy milestones to ensure new locations are accretive and culturally aligned. Supply Chain & Logistics Optimization: Drive gross margin improvements through freight optimization, vendor negotiations, and sophisticated inventory turn management across a growing multi-site network. P&L & KPI Ownership: Build the "Operating Rhythm" of the company. Develop dashboards that track labor productivity, safety, and service levels, ensuring site managers are held accountable to financial targets.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 10+ Years of Operations Leadership: Proven track record in industrial distribution, building materials, marine, or heavy construction environments. The "Builder" Track Record: Specific experience scaling a company (e.g., $10M to $50M+) or leading multi-site expansions. M&A Experience: You must have a history of integrating acquired businesses-standardizing their processes, systems, and teams without losing their core value. Financial Acumen: Strong P&L management experience with the ability to identify margin-expansion opportunities within the supply chain. Education: Bachelor's degree required (Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business preferred); MBA is a significant plus.CULTURAL FIT Low Ego, High Impact: You are comfortable moving from the boardroom to the warehouse yard. Data-Driven: You lead by the numbers but understand the "human element" of change management during acquisitions. Bias for Action: In an owner-led organization, speed and practical judgment are more valuable than theoretical "corporate" models.
