Position Summary:The Audiovisual (AV) Technician - II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio-visual systems that support a variety of business functions. This role ensures the seamless operation of AV equipment used for meetings, conferences, and digital communications. The technician works closely with clients and team members to assess AV needs and deliver reliable, high-quality installations and support.Key responsibilities include setting up and maintaining 70V PA systems, TV/RF distribution systems, and digital signage. The Audiovisual (AV) Technician - II plays a vital role in creating engaging and professional environments for end users, contributing to the overall success of AV operations and client satisfaction.Skills & Core StrengthsAudiovisual system installation and supportConstruction-style jobsite experienceAV/IT trade tools and equipment useTechnical troubleshooting and diagnosticsSystem testing and verification70V PA systems, displays, and projection systemsRF/TV distribution and digital signageCable pulls, terminations, and equipment mountingReading and interpreting drawings and work ordersDocumentation and record set markupsTeam collaboration and jobsite communicationTime management and task prioritizationSafety awareness and OSHA-aligned practicesWhat You'll DoInstall AV equipment including speakers, displays, projectors, screens, and related hardwarePerform wire pulls, terminations, equipment mounting, and system assembly per project documentationSupport setup and configuration of 70V PA systems, RF/TV distribution, and digital signageTest systems after installation to confirm performance and functionalityPerform diagnostics, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting as neededRead and interpret project drawings, scopes of work, and work ordersMaintain and mark up record set drawings to reflect field changesCommunicate job progress, changes, and issues to the Foreman or Project ManagerProtect equipment, materials, and interior finishes throughout the project lifecycleMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work areaGather equipment manuals and close-out materials at job completionAttend jobsite coordination and safety meetings as requiredSupport overall project completion in alignment with schedules and quality standardsParticipate in training and maintain required certificationsWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or equivalent experience preferredMinimum of 4 years of AV/IT technical support or field engineering experienceStrong hands-on experience commissioning and troubleshooting AV systemsProficiency with Windows and Apple operating systemsExperience configuring audio, video, and conferencing systemsWorking knowledge of control systems, DSPs, and AV networkingFamiliarity with communication protocols (IP, RS232, RS485, USB)Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and system designsStrong communication, organization, and time-management skillsAbility to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently in the fieldCertifications:Ability to obtain AVIXA CTS within one year of hireAbility to obtain CompTIA A+ (or equivalent) within one year of hireAbout UsAvidex is a leading AV/IT integration company delivering innovative technology solutions across corporate, healthcare, education, and enterprise environments.
