Class Summary Job Description The Process Improvement Analyst position is assigned to the Department of Planning & Development's Administration Division and will report to the Operational Development Manager. This position will be responsible for facilitating the department's process improvement projects across all divisions and maintaining the department's process documentation including process flowcharts, standard operating procedures, and training guides. Essential Duties * Leads the department's process analysis, mapping, and documentation initiatives. * Evaluates current process workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies and recommend solutions. * Recommends updates to applicable ordinances to streamline processes. * Plans and leads process improvement projects for the department using industry best practice methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma. * Collaborates with cross-functional teams and other subject matter experts to gather requirements and develop practical, sustainable solutions. * Creates and enforces standards for the department's standard operating procedures, process documentation, and training materials. * Analyzes data and key performance indicators to identify trends, address service delivery issues, and monitor the ongoing effectiveness of implemented process changes. * Provides coaching and technical guidance to departmental staff on process improvement methodologies and the use of standardized documentation tools. * Facilitates a culture of continuous improvement and change management in the department by empowering team members. * Performs other duties as assigned by division leadership. Grade The grade for this position is 104. Salary will be dependent on education and experience. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program. Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field; AND * Three years of related experience in Microsoft Visio or equivalent software for process mapping and analysis. * An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered. Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications * Process management certification such as Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE).
