This position is a fast-paced position responsible for enrollment services and fulfilling all state requirements for AEL enrollment. This position also administers student assessments and serves as the publics' point of contact for the Victoria College Adult Ed Program.This position is benefits eligible. Victoria's cost of living is significantly lower than the national average, making it an attractive option for students and families alike.Duties & Responsibilities Serves as the public's point of contact for the Victoria College Adult Education Program and performs customer services duties such as greeting guests, answering phones, and processing all email inquiries.Accept student applications, ensure accuracy and required documents, and maintain up-to-date electronic and paper system.Administer/oversee student assessment administration and follow up ensuring standardized testing procedures are followed.Assists with assessment training for all staff to ensure compliance procedures are followed.Provides instructional information for staff regarding students.Ensure completion of timely new student orientations and public information sessions throughout the service area.Collects required student information and ensures security measures are followed at all times.Reviews student files and personal information for accuracy.Assists with student scheduling and distribution of program information.Administer/oversee all student pre-screening and ensures comprehensive intake procedures are maintained.Maintains a professional and courteous attitude towards staff and colleagues.Participate in VC promotional activities and community eventsComplete annual staff development requirements as determined by SBOE rulesDevelop and maintain effective working relationships with adult education staff, program participants, business and industry, public and private organizations, and co-workersPerforms all other duties as requested by Director of the Adult Education Program. Qualifications GED or HS diploma requiredAssociate degree preferredBilingual (Spanish) preferredExperience with multi-tasking and working in a busy office environment.Customer-centered mindset and experience working with the public requiredExcellent computer skills and willingness to learn advanced computer skills, Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills;Discretionary judgment regarding confidential information;Ability to accomplish basic business tasks, meet deadlines, and ability to learn and interpret policies and procedures;Ability to interact with diverse groupsWillingness to work evening hours and travel throughout the service area to meet program demands is required Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds while loading office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job.
