This role will focus on programming, optimizing, and supporting Swiss-type CNC machines for precision components. The position is hybrid, requiring regular on-site presence in the San Diego area.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize CNC programs for Swiss-type lathes Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturability Support machine setup, prove-outs, and troubleshooting as needed Optimize cycle times, tooling, and overall machining efficiency Ensure programs meet tight tolerances and quality standards Support prototype and production buildsQualifications3+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer, with strong Swiss machining experience required Hands-on experience with Swiss-type machines (e.g., Citizen, Star, Tsugami, or similar) Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar) Strong understanding of G-code, tooling, and precision machining processes Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T Experience with tight-tolerance, high-precision componentsAdditional RequirementsMust be local to the San Diego / Southern California area Able to work on-site as needed for setup and testingAdditional DetailsHybrid schedule (remote programming + on-site support) Contract role with potential for extension Competitive hourly rate based on experience
