Job Type Full-timeDescriptionThe Project Engineer - Warehouse Rack Design & Permitting supports the design, documentation, and permitting of warehouse racking systems. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers, this role assists with drawing reviews, engineering documentation, and submittals to local jurisdictions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in warehouse infrastructure, rack systems, and California permitting workflows.RequirementsJob Responsibilities:Assist with reviewing warehouse rack layouts, load information, and anchorage detailsSupport coordination between rack drawings and architectural or structural plansHelp assemble engineering calculation packages prepared by licensed Professional EngineersMaintain rack design documentation, submittals, and revision logsPerform basic checks for completeness and consistency of engineering documentsPrepare permit application packages for warehouse racking installationsSubmit plans to local jurisdictions and track plan check statusLog and distribute plan check comments to internal teams and consultantsAssist with resubmittals and document revisionsMaintain organized permit and inspection recordsSupport Project Managers and Senior Engineers with technical documentation needsParticipate in internal coordination meetings related to rack design and permittingRespond to basic RFIs and field questions with guidance from senior staffHelp track engineering and permitting schedulesMaintain electronic project files and drawing archivesVerify that approved plans are issued for constructionAssist with as-built documentation and project closeout packagesFollow established engineering and permitting proceduresEducation and Experience:Demonstrates strong organizational skills.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field 1-3 years of experience in engineering, construction, or industrial projectsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to read and interpret basic drawings, plans, and technical documentation Proficiency with Microsoft Office; exposure to CAD tools is a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to collaborate effectively and take direction from senior engineering staff Problem-solving mindset with willingness to learn new engineering and permitting processesKey Performance Indicators (KPIs):Design/Quote Turnaround TimeDrawing/Quote QualityProject On-Time Delivery RateProject Budget AdherenceSalary Description Salary Range is $75,000 to $85,000
