Job DescriptionThis is a direct hire opportunity!1st shift hours: 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on FridayPay: $43/hourThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance duties to ensure the safe and efficient operation of building systems, production equipment, and facility grounds. This individual must have a strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to develop skills in machine operation and maintenance. This role also supports company events, safety programs, and compliance initiativesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on machinery, forklifts, hand tools, air compressors, dryers, foaming machines, molding equipment, lighting, HVAC systems, and other production support systemsServe as on-call support for facility or equipment issues during off-hoursExecute and maintain the preventative maintenance (PM) program, ensuring timely completion of all scheduled tasksConduct and document safety inspections (e.g., fire extinguishers, exit signs, sprinklers), initiating repairs as neededActively participate as a key member of the Safety CommitteeCoordinate logistics and setup for trade show displays, including door stands, site setup/teardown, trucking, rigging, and carpentryManage hazardous waste disposal processes in compliance with regulationsSupport compliance and regulatory program coordination (e.g., OSHA, environmental, safety audits)Assist with office-related maintenance tasks and special requestsCoordinate company meetings and events, including room setup and refreshmentsPerform seasonal and routine exterior groundskeeping dutiesWork collaboratively with engineers on new prototype doors, including manufacturing parts, developing tools, fixtures, and templatesSupport facility security, including after-hours call-ins and coordination with the security provider.Provide assistance in manufacturing as needed (assembly, machining, welding).Desired Competencies:Quality of Work: Delivers high-quality results, demonstrates attention to detail, and seeks continuous improvementEfficiency & Productivity: Works efficiently, meets deadlines, and increases output without sacrificing qualityTechnical Knowledge: Demonstrates a growing understanding of maintenance and machine operation principlesTeam Collaboration: Works well with others, accepts direction, and supports team success.Dependability: Consistently reliable and punctual; prepared to work at the start of each shiftSafety & Cleanliness: Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment; follows all safety protocols.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or technical school training in maintenance, electrical, HVAC, or related field preferredMinimum 2 years of hands-on maintenance and equipment repair experience required.Desire to learn and grow into machine operation and equipment-specific maintenance responsibilitiesTechnical Skills: • Proficient with basic MIG welding, plumbing, and electrical repairs.Experience with plasma and oxy-acetylene cutting is a plusAbility to read blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawingsFamiliarity with power tools, hand tools, measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers), and electrical testing devicesComputer Skills: • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook, is helpfulAbility to complete electronic PM tracking and safety documentationCertifications & Licenses: • Forklift certification and scissor lift experience requiredOSHA 10/30-hour training preferredValid driver's license requiredQualificationsProven experience in facilities maintenance within manufacturing environments or similar settings.Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical manuals.Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and electrical systems.Skilled in welding techniques and residential painting for facility projects.Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance tracking and reporting.Ability to use diagnostic tools such as Ohmmeters effectively.Supervising or leadership experience is preferred to guide team members during complex tasks.Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate with team members and vendors effectively.Knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and customer service principles is essential.
